Health and safety recommendations to safeguard our community

Skipcart and its partners are community members across the US. In order to be a responsible community member, we are working with public health authorities to provide recommended steps to limit the exposure and spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).  We are closely monitoring and providing the most up to date recommendations on how to protect yourself and others.

2019-nCoV CoronavirusCDC Fact sheet

2019-nCoV (Coronavirus) is a virus that causes the COVID-19 respiratory illness. It was first detected in Wuhan, China.

According to the CDC, “Coronaviruses are generally thought to be spread from person-to-person through respiratory droplets. Currently, there is no evidence to support the transmission of COVID-19 associated with food.”

Do your part for your community-

Care for yourself:

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.

  • If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry.

****The EPA released a list of registered disinfectant products that have qualified under its emerging viral pathogen program for use again SARS-CoV-2. You can find the list here.

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

Care for others:

  • Cover your cough or sneeze - Use a tissue to cover your cough or sneeze and throw the tissue in the trash, then wash your hands. If you don't have a tissue within reach, cough or sneeze into your elbow.

  • Clean and disinfect your vehicle - Pay special attention to surfaces that you frequently come in contact with, especially during pick up and drop off delivery goods.

  • Regularly sanitize and clean hot bags as well as your hands between delivery trips to reduce the risk of contamination.

  • If you feel sick or have respiratory symptoms, voluntarily suspend the delivery services provided to Skipcart and stay at home - If your symptoms get worse, consult your doctor. If you have a medical appointment, call the healthcare provider and tell them that you have or may have COVID-19. This will help the healthcare provider’s office take steps to keep other people from getting infected or exposed.
